Adopted in 2010, new state regulations known as the California Green Building Standards Code, part of the Code of Regulations, will take effect January 1, 2011. The new regulations are known as the CALGreen Code. The California Green Building Standards Code is Part 11 of twelve parts of the official compilation and publication of the adoption, amendment and repeal of building regulations to the California Code of Regulations, Title 24, also referred to as the California Building Standards Code. The California Energy Code is included in the new code by reference.
The provisions of this code apply to the planning, design, operation, construction, use and occupancy of every newly constructed building or structure in the State of California. These standards become effective starting January 1, 2011, at the time an application for a building permit is submitted and shall apply to the plans and specifications for, and to the construction performed under, that permit.
Homeownermanuals.com can help you comply with Section 4.410.1 of the Code. This Section requires that a “manual” be placed in the building (“home”) at the time of final inspection. This manual needs to contain operation and maintenance instructions for the home, as well as conservation information provided by local utility, water and waste recycling programs, public transportation and ride-sharing options, and State solar energy incentive programs.
All of our manuals are fully CALGreen compliant.
